A Few Challenges Rolled into One!

Happy Friday Friends! It is especially happy because I now have a week off from work! I love the little kiddos at school, but it is always nice to have extra time to be home with my family too!

Today's card combines some of my favorite challenges! Here are the details and the links for all of them. On Fridays I LOVE to do Blogger's Challenge (this week's theme is embossing) and Jessie's Forgotten Stamp Friday (make a card or project using a stamp that hasn't been used or has been owned and NOT used for at least six months). My sketch is from Jen Del Muro's monthly Sketch For You To Try. The inspiration for this card came from the challenge over at The Cat's Pajama's. I used Copic Markers (E11, E15, E17, E21, E25, E29, and the Colorless Blender) to color up PJ bear from the "A Cuppa" set from The Cat's Pajama's. The apron and the tea cup/soup bowl are paper pieced. All of the patterned papers are from the New Arrival collection from Pebbles, Inc. and the Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip card stock is from Stampin' Up. The inspiration piece over at TCP has lots of blues and browns and dots, so I embossed the main image before I colored it and then I used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the circular piece behind PJ and the main Chocolate Chip panel. The brown buttons are from Papertrey Ink and the large blue button is from my stash. The brown polka dotted ribbon is from May Arts.

This card will go in the pack for DH's grandmother, who likes cards without sentiments on the front. That way she can use them for just about any occasion. While this one is perfect for a get well card, I think that it also works for thinking of you or a birthday card for anyone that likes a good cup of tea. A Simply Wonderful Birthday!

Good Evening Everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! Perhaps, I should have had a valentine to share tonight, but you have already seen all of the ones that I have given out, so I decided to share my variation of the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch. You can find all of the details and the sketch here.

We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground here in New England, so I decided to go with some fun Spring colors for this one. I picked up some of the new Little Girl papers from Echo Park this past weekend. I LOVE the colors and patterns. I paired them up with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Polka Dot Greetings Die & Stamp Set Duo. I also used some Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie card stock and ink. The ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

This was such a fun and easy sketch to work with and I can see using all of the greetings from this Die-namics set to make a nice set of cards for a gift. I'm off to watch my favorite television show, Castle. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...Toodles! :D

Fragile!

Happy Saturday Friends! Are you enjoying the first part of the weekend? I was happy to see this work week end and I couldn't wait for the weekend to begin! I spent the day with two wonderful friends of mine. We went shopping for crafty things and had lunch together. It was just a FABULOUS Girl's Day Out, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

My card for today is for this week's Blogger's Challenge (Love Theme). Would you like to play along too? I stuck with the love theme and I love Jessie's idea of Forgotten Stamp Friday, so I used this Penny Black stamp (named Fragile!) that hasn't seen ink for a very long time. I am so not a cat lover, but I fell in love with this stamp when I first started stamping and it is definitely not one that I'll ever part with. He's colored up with Copic Markers (C1, C3, E53, R20, R37, R39, and the Colorless Blender). The papers are from the State of the Heart collection from My Mind's Eye and the layout is from Joanne Basile. We made a card with these papers at her last class and I just loved how she put them together, so I decided to just go with the same thing. The sentiment is from the Pure Innocence set Love You With All My Heart from My Favorite Things. I also used the Hearts A Plenty Die-namics die (on the bottom with the PTI button) and the Small Scallop Border Die-namics die (with some MFT felt across the middle of my card). More Projects to Share!

Good Thursday morning Friends! The end of the week is near...hang in there! Friday is just around the corner! Valentine's Day is just around the corner too. Would you like a couple more gift ideas for some of your Valentines? One thing that I like to do, is take stamps and use them for more than just the occasion that they may have been intended for. For today's projects that I made for Right at Home Scrapbooking, I used the same two stamps that I used to create my frame and Lollipop Jar on Tuesday, but I changed things up a little bit.


I just love this Pure Innocence girl from My Favorite Things and thought that she would make a wonderful little Valentine gift for my niece. The image and sentiment are from the "Lather. Rinse. Repeat." set. She is colored up with Copic Markers (BG000, C0, C1, C3, E000, E00 E11, E25, E27, R20, Y32, YR24, and the Colorless Blender) and her shower cap/towel was paper pieced with some Bo Bunny Passion Fruit Dot paper. I made this little basket out of the same paper. It is basically a 12" x 12" piece of paper that is scored in 3" increments to make twelve squares. I then cut off one 3" square from each corner. That left two squares on each of the four sides. I then cut a 3" slit between the two squares on each side. The squares were over lapped and then glued together to form the base of the basket. I cut another strip of paper about 1-1/2" wide by 10" long to make the handle. A few buttons and some ribbon finish off my basket just before I filled it with some bath accessories that all teenage girls love!


For this project, I used the Pure Innocence "Lollypop Girl" set from My Favorite Things again. I think that she is just perfect for Valentine's Day...don't you? She is colored up with Copic Markers (Eooo, Eoo, E11, E25, E27, R20, R22, R24, and R29) and her lollipop is covered with glitter for some sparkle. This is one of those little metal mailboxes that pop up all over the stores at this time of year. I covered it with some "Little Princess" paper from the Alphabet Soup Girl collection by My Mind's Eye. The hearts are made with the "Hearts a Plenty" Die-namic from My Favorite Things. I cut them out of some "Lovely" paper from the same collection. I added a Basic Grey button and some Baker's Twine along with a Valentine sentiment.

I added some more of the same papers and accents to the other sides of the mailbox. I hope that my creations have inspired you. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a beautiful day...Toodles! :D

I Have Some EXCITING Things to Share and a PRIZE for YOU!!!

Happy Tuesday! I have a few things to share with you. I'll start with my exciting news that I hinted about yesterday. A little while ago, I received a wonderful email from Lisa, the owner of a favorite scrapbooking/stamping shop of mine, Right at Home Scrapbooking in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Her email asked if I'd be interested in joining her DESIGN TEAM! How exciting! Lisa's store is filled with all of the things that I love to create with...My Favorite Things stamps, The Cat's Pajamas Stamps, Copic Markers, October Afternoon Papers, Cosmo Cricket Papers, My Mind's Eye Papers, Spools of Baker's Twine, Ribbons, Buttons, and the list goes on and on and on! I'm simply thrilled to pieces! Thank you so much for this wonderful honor Lisa! I am really looking forward to working with your fantastic designers!

Can you tell how happy I am!! I was even happier when I received my first Design Team kit! It had some of my most favorite things in it...ribbons, buttons, My Mind's Eye papers, and two sweet Pure Innocence stamp sets from My Favorite Things!! Ack...if you have been by my blog before, then you know how much I LOVE working with these adorable stamps! Thanks so much for letting my gush for a moment! Now, would you like to see something that I made with all of these wonderful things?

My first project uses this adorable image from My Favorite Things. It comes from the "Lather. Rinse. Repeat." set. I just love this image because I happen to have an antique claw footed bathtub in my master bathroom. We refinished one that we found and installed it when we built our home. My little bath girl is colored up with Copic Markers (BG000, C0, C1, C3, E000, E00 E11, E25, E27, R20, Y32, YR24, and the Colorless Blender). The bubbles are covered with glitter to add some sparkle. I used a Copic Multi-liner to draw in the floor and then I colored it in. Her little shower cap is paper pieced with a piece of "Sunny Stripes" paper from the Alphabet Soup Girl collection from My Mind's Eye. I also used the "Flower Patch" paper from the same collection for this project. The oval, wooden frame is one that I had picked up at Michaels awhile ago. After I covered the frame with these wonderful papers, I added some lime green ribbon with a Basic Grey button and some Baker's Twine to finish it all off. The frame has two little pegs in the back so that it can sit on a counter or a cabinet.

My next project uses another adorable Pure Innocence set from My Favorite Things. This one is called, "Lollypop". Now with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought that this would make a perfect little treat for a loved one. I filled the jar with lollipops (they are a little healthier than chocolates...lol!) and then I started embellishing.

I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-namic from My Favorite Things to make some hearts from the "Lovely" paper from the Alphabet Soup Girl collection from My Mind's Eye. I accented the hearts with more Basic Grey buttons. To dress up the twill ribbon, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set right onto the ribbon.

Here is a close-up of the tag that I made for the candy jar. My lollipop loving, little girl is colored up with Copic Markers (BG11, BG13, E000, E00, E11, E25, E27, E40, R20, R22, and R24.) I added some glitter to the lollipop for a bit of sparkle. The tag was made with my Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities. The classic oval uses the same "Lovely" paper that I used for the hearts and the scalloped oval is made with Bo Bunny's Passion Fruit Dot paper.

Thank You From the Heart!

Happy Monday Everyone! I wanted to share with you my creation for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch #5. You can find all of the details about the sketch here. I started off with a card base of white card stock. The next layer is a panel of Stampin' Up Cool Caribbean (retired). I sewed the top and bottom scalloped pieces onto the Cool Caribbean and then added some Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon. The scallops were made with the MFT Jumbo Scallop Die-namic. To the ribbon, I added a little charm that says, "Thank You". My adorable little girl is colored with Copic Markers (BG000, BG10, BG72, E000, E11, E25, E27, E40, E53, and R20) and her dress and heart are paper pieced with some Tickled Pink papers from My Mind's Eye. All of the patterned papers that I used for this card are from this collection as well. The little girl is from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence set, "Love You With All My Heart". It seems to be out of stock at the moment though. To finish things off, I added a pearl to each of the scallops.

Forgotten Stamp Friday on Sunday!!

Happy Sunday Friends! I'm a little late with my Forgotten Stamp Friday creation. How could I have forgotten about posting my Forgotten Stamp Friday card! This time around, I used a Penny Black rubber stamp that hasn't seen ink in quite awhile. The name of this one is Poppy Field and I simply love that little hedgehog! He is colored up with Copic Markers (E000, E33, E35, E51, G20, G21, R20, R29, R37, R59, V01, V05, and V06.) I put all of these colors together to go with another challenge that I came across over at Pals Paper Arts. The challenge is to use Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry, and Certainly Celery. A beautiful mix that I would have never thought of. This was a wonderful opportunity to pull out some Stampin' Up papers that I haven't used for some time. I also added some Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon and I found a few buttons in my jar that matched perfectly. They are accented with some white craft thread and then adhered to the card with pop-up dots. DH's grandmother loves to have a stash of cards without sentiments on hand so this one will be heading over to her house.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary!

Hey, Little Lady!

Happy Friday Friends! How did it become Friday already? Oh yes...that is what happens when you have two snow days and then a two hour delay from school! The week simply flies by! The snow has piled up so high here that it is past my waist when I stand in it without snowshoes...lol! Now, that's a lot of snow!

This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use the colors red, black, and white. Would you like to play along too? Just link your card below. I should have probably made a Valentine with these colors, but I decided to go with this sweet little ladybug from my new Tiny Treats: Birthday set from Papertrey Ink. I used the Mat Stack 5 die from PTI to cut out the red polka dotted piece. Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red ink was used for this piece. I stamped the image, the sentiment, and the middle circle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The little ladybug is colored with Copic Markers (C3, C9, Eooo, R20, and R29.) The polka dotted paper from October Afternoon is sewed to a cream panel. Before I added that panel to my card base, I used a zig zag stitch to add a wide strip of black. A few Papertrey Ink buttons in the right corner finish this card off.
