Red, White, and Blue!!!

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Friday! I'm going to keep this on the shorter side because I have already had this typed up once and somehow deleted the whole thing...ugh!!! So here we go again! This week's Blogger's Challenge is Red, White, and Blue! Normally, I would go with something Patriotic, but my mother-in-law needed another one of these little boxes from Michaels, so I used the colors on that instead. My Heather Ellis image is colored up with Copic Markers (B21, B23, B26, E000, E01, E53, 55, E57, R24, R27, R29, YG64, YG67, and YR18) and then cut out with my oval Nesties. The box is covered with Stampin' Up!'s Riding Hood Red Designer Paper. I also used some Riding Hood Red ribbon to tie the whole box together.

Please check out what the other Ladies the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with for this color challenge. Just click on the logo in my right side bar. I hope that your Friday is fabulous and free from computer troubles! Thanks so much for visiting...Toodles! :D

It's Finally Friday!

Happy Friday to you! I'm hoping that this weekend will be better than the last one. I was going to stamp, stamp, and stamp some more, but that didn't quite happen. Instead, I was oh, so sick! I guess I can now take "Get Strep Throat" off my bucket list..lol! I'm looking forward to getting a little bit of extra rest this upcoming weekend. On a happier note, this week's Blogger's Challenge is a sketch challenge. Lisa came up with another wonderful one for us to try. Thanks so much Lisa! Here it is if you'd like to give it a try for yourself. (Let me know if you do so I can come and see your creation too!) I went with a look that really isn't typical of my style, but I still like how is turned out. My card base is Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip. I embossed that layer, but you really can't see that with the three distressed panels (Daisy D's paper). My main image is Stampin' Up's Easy Elegance (retired). It's stamped in Garden Green, More Mustard, and Ruby Red. A bit of Ruby Red is sponged on the edges and then I added another layer of Chocolate Chip. For my circles, I used some American Craft chocolate buttons that I tied with golden threads. A little piercing in the bottom right corner finishes this one off. However, if you frequent my blog, then you know, I'm not always very good at following a sketch challenge...lol! So I wanted to show you that I followed the challenge, but then I needed to make a slight adjustment. Here's my updated version with one addition...

I'm in need of a thank you card, so that is what I turned this one into. The "thank you" is from Stampin' Up's Noteworthy set (retired) and I used their oval punches to cut it out. Nothing too far from the sketch now...lol! You can see what the other Ladies from the BC Group have come up with for this sketch by clicking on the Blogger's Challenge logo in my right sidebar. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy your Friday...Toodles! :D

Yes...It's a Teal Turtle!!!

Happy Friday Friends! Do you have anything special planned for the weekend? I have one very special little league game to go to (if it doesn't rain) and then I'm hoping to spend the rest of my time stamping away!

Today's Blogger's Challenge is a color one - Red, Teal, and Curry. For my card I used Riding Hood Red, Bermuda Bay, and then I ended up using So Saffron in the place of the Curry. I had to improvise, but I'm thrilled with the results. I started off with a digital image from Pink Cat Studio (Lily Riding Turtle) and I colored it up with my Copic markers (BG11, BG15, BG18, BG32, C1, E000, E01, R20, R27, R29, Y32, and Y35). The sentiment is also digital and it's FREE from Pink Cat Studio. The patterned paper is from the Quite Contrary line by My Mind's Eye. Luckily it had all of the colors from the color challenge in it. The other accents that I used on my card were Stampin' Up's Top Note Die, their So Saffron grosgrain ribbon, and I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder in my 'Bug.

The last time DH and I were at Barnes & Noble, I was able to pick up a copy of Paper Craft's Go-to Sketches. I started off using one of the sketches on this card, but my image was a little too large for that particular design, so I ended up going a different way. Which is usually what happens when I try to follow a sketch...lol! That's quite alright though, because the book is just filled with oodles and oodles of ideas and inspiration. I'm sure that I'll be able to get a sketch the right way sooner or later...lol!

For more inspiration with this wonderful color combination (I think that it's just perfect for Summer), please check out what the other Ladies from the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with. You can find their links here. Enjoy your Friday, and thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...Toodles! :D

Graduation and an Award!

One of the teachers that I work with asked if I could make a card for her daughter that would be graduating from one of the area universities over the weekend. Of course, I said yes! This is what I came up with. She wanted an image that reminded her of her daughter so I used Heather Ellis' Graduation Girl. You can find Heather's images here. I colored her with my Copic Markers (B21, B23, B26, E000, E01, E55, R20, Y21, and Y32) to go with the school's colors. The sentiment was made on the computer so that I could personalize it and then I used my Nesties to cut out the ovals. The card base is Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select Card Stock in white. I then added a layer of Stampin' Up's Brilliant Blue and an embossed layer of white. A few pearls in the corners and some sheer ribbon from Michaels complete this creation.

The other thing that I would like to share with you today is a "Sunshine Award" that my friend LeAnne Pugliese passed along to me. Thank you again LeAnne! My job is to now share it with ten blogging friends and they can then pass it along to ten others.

Mother's Day!

Happy Friday! It's a glorious day here in New England! I've had a fun filled one at the local science museum. I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the chaperons for my little one's class trip and we had a wonderful day together. Such a terrific way to start off Mother's Day weekend, which just happens to be the theme for this week's Blogger's Challenge.

I did a "pretty" card last week, so now I'm back to the "cutesy" stuff...lol! I started off with Mary Jo's sketch. My card base is Stampin' Up's Baja Breeze and I paired that up with some Quite Contrary paper from My Mind's Eye. I just love Heather Ellis' Pure Innocence digital images. You can find them here. This little cutie is colored up with Copic markers (BG10, BG72, C1, E000, E01, E15, E17, E19, E29, E31, E35, R20, R29, R81, R83, R85 and YR15) and layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery. I used my Scallop Border punch across the bottom, a few buttons on the side, and a touch of faux stitching in the corner to complete this one.

If you need a few Mother's Day ideas, be sure to stop by and see what the other Ladies in the BC group have come up with. You can find their blogs here. Thanks so much for visiting today, and to everyone who is a "Mom" out there, Happy Mother's Day to you...Toodles! :D

First Communion!

Happy Sunday evening everyone! I know that it's very late for Blogger's Challenge, but I think that I have a pretty good reason. My little one made his First Communion today. I've been busy trying to get everything prepared for guests at the house and all of the hullabaloo that goes along with that. That has left me little time for stamping and little time for catching up with all of my friends on the computer.

It was a beautiful day here and all of the children were just wonderful! They're such a blessing! All of the dishes are done and everything is cleaned up and put away, so I thought that I'd share the card that I created for my little guy. I'm so glad that I was able to still participate in this week's Blogger's Challenge even though I'm a little late. I used the praying hands stamp that I picked up at the Dollar Tree a couple of years back and I made the sentiment on the computer. I stamped the main image twice and cut one of them out for some extra dimension. The entire image is die cut with my Nesties (Labels One). Our challenge this week is embossing, so I used my Textile Texture embossing folder and my 'Bug to add some subtle elegance to the card. (After all, it is for a boy...lol!) Then it needed something, so I went and added the ribbon. (Now, it's not so boyish...lol!) He loved the card anyway! I'm a very lucky Mommy! {wink}
