A Special Christmas Ornament!
Happy Sunday Friends! I'm running a couple of days late for Friday's Blogger's Challenge, but here it is. This is one of my many attempts at our Christmas Ornament challenge. You see, at first, I wasn't sure what I was going to do and then our family got a very special surprise! My sister in law was due to have her baby in late December, but we were blessed with an early and healthy little bundle of sweetness this past week! I immediately thought to make an ornament for my new little niece. I started making her a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament, but nothing seemed to work out right. So, I decided to put that project on hold and I moved onto this one.I started with a paper mache ornament from Michaels. It's covered with red cardstock and then I added some pom pom trim around the side. The gingham ribbon on the top is also from Michaels. This delightful snowman image is a digital one from Heather Ellis. She is the illustrator of the Pure Innocence stamp line that My Favorite Things carries. I always love her sweet images, and this one is no exception! You can find Heather's Etsy shop here. I colored up my snowman with my Copic Markers (BG000, C7, C9, E29, R37, R39, YG63, YG67, YR16, YR18, and the Colorless Blender) and then I added some Star Dust Stickles to the snow for some sparkle.

Mary Jo's Sketch?!?!?
Happy Tuesday! I have quite a few question marks in my title because what started off as Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge went a little off track...lol! After I had the card all glued together, I realized that I forgot to put the vertical strip that is shown on the left side of the sketch...ugh! (You'll just have to use your imagination and picture it there...lol!)I started off with this Heather Ellis/My Favorite Things Pure Innocence image. She's colored up with Copic Markers (BG000, BG10, BG11, E000, E00, E01, E29, E37, R20, R27, R29, Y21, Y32, YG13, YG17, and the Colorless Blender) and I used my Nesties for the rectangles. The patterned paper is more retired Stampin' Up pieces from my stash with some Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, and retired Cool Caribbean accent layers. A touch of ribbon, a pair of buttons, and some different stitches done with my Janome Sew Mini complete my card.
I'm so glad that you could drop by this evening for a visit! Thanks a bunch! I'll see you again soon...Toodles! :D

Happy Graduation!
Happy Friday! This week's Blogger's Challenge theme is graduation. The cards that I have to share are cards that I've shown before and just slightly changed the design and the colors, but they are what I've been working on, so here goes. The first card uses Heather Ellis' Graduation Girl (found here). Our local high school graduates this weekend and the school colors are this rich burgundy color. My Graduation Girl is colored up with my Copic Markers. I used my usual colors for the skin and hair and for her gown, I went with R83, R85, and then some R59. After that I went over all of the clothing areas with R29 to get this really deep tone. I ended up making four of these cards for a colleague because her daughter is graduating this weekend. She wanted a card to resemble her daughter and then more for her daughter's friends. The next card is for the males that are graduating. I made up a few of these for my colleague as well. The stamp is long retired from an all occasion set from Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from Scenic Route. It went well with our school's colors. I added a touch of black to pull the whole thing together. For more graduation inspiration, please check out what the other Ladies from the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with. You can find their blogs here. Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope that you have a lovely weekend! I'm heading to my first Stamping Convention tomorrow!! I can't wait...Toodles! :DFriday, May 28, 2010
Red, White, and Blue!!!
Good Morning Everyone! Happy Friday! I'm going to keep this on the shorter side because I have already had this typed up once and somehow deleted the whole thing...ugh!!! So here we go again! This week's Blogger's Challenge is Red, White, and Blue! Normally, I would go with something Patriotic, but my mother-in-law needed another one of these little boxes from Michaels, so I used the colors on that instead. My Heather Ellis image is colored up with Copic Markers (B21, B23, B26, E000, E01, E53, 55, E57, R24, R27, R29, YG64, YG67, and YR18) and then cut out with my oval Nesties. The box is covered with Stampin' Up!'s Riding Hood Red Designer Paper. I also used some Riding Hood Red ribbon to tie the whole box together. Please check out what the other Ladies the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with for this color challenge. Just click on the logo in my right side bar. I hope that your Friday is fabulous and free from computer troubles! Thanks so much for visiting...Toodles! :D

Graduation and an Award!
One of the teachers that I work with asked if I could make a card for her daughter that would be graduating from one of the area universities over the weekend. Of course, I said yes! This is what I came up with. She wanted an image that reminded her of her daughter so I used Heather Ellis' Graduation Girl. You can find Heather's images here. I colored her with my Copic Markers (B21, B23, B26, E000, E01, E55, R20, Y21, and Y32) to go with the school's colors. The sentiment was made on the computer so that I could personalize it and then I used my Nesties to cut out the ovals. The card base is Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select Card Stock in white. I then added a layer of Stampin' Up's Brilliant Blue and an embossed layer of white. A few pearls in the corners and some sheer ribbon from Michaels complete this creation. The other thing that I would like to share with you today is a "Sunshine Award" that my friend LeAnne Pugliese passed along to me. Thank you again LeAnne! My job is to now share it with ten blogging friends and they can then pass it along to ten others.

Mother's Day!
Happy Friday! It's a glorious day here in New England! I've had a fun filled one at the local science museum. I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the chaperons for my little one's class trip and we had a wonderful day together. Such a terrific way to start off Mother's Day weekend, which just happens to be the theme for this week's Blogger's Challenge.I did a "pretty" card last week, so now I'm back to the "cutesy" stuff...lol! I started off with Mary Jo's sketch. My card base is Stampin' Up's Baja Breeze and I paired that up with some Quite Contrary paper from My Mind's Eye. I just love Heather Ellis' Pure Innocence digital images. You can find them here. This little cutie is colored up with Copic markers (BG10, BG72, C1, E000, E01, E15, E17, E19, E29, E31, E35, R20, R29, R81, R83, R85 and YR15) and layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery. I used my Scallop Border punch across the bottom, a few buttons on the side, and a touch of faux stitching in the corner to complete this one.
If you need a few Mother's Day ideas, be sure to stop by and see what the other Ladies in the BC group have come up with. You can find their blogs here. Thanks so much for visiting today, and to everyone who is a "Mom" out there, Happy Mother's Day to you...Toodles! :D

Blogger's Challenge...Finally!
I should have titled this post, "Less is More" because this is one, simple card, but I've had a sinus infection all week (hence the reason I'm doing Blogger's Challenge on Sunday instead of Friday) and this was about the best that I could come up with. Our challenge for this week is called, "Think Spring!" and Spring has certainly hit the New England area this past weekend! The weather was gorgeous here!My Heather Ellis image is colored with Copic markers and layered onto Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue. The patterned paper is an older line from Imaginisce called For Peep's Sake. I added a strip of So Saffron grosgrain ribbon, some faux stitching, and a few Kaiser Craft Pearls to finish this one off. Like I said, less is more...lol! I'm going to go snuggle up with my laptop and check out what the other Ladies in the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with. You can see all of their creations here. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. Hope you have a lovely evening...Toodles! :D

Two Blogger's Challenges!
I picked up this little chipboard/wooden box at Michaels and covered it with some retired, Stampin' Up Pacific Point DSP. I added one of those sweet, digital Heather Ellis images that I colored up with my Copic markers (B0000, B00, B12, B14, E000, E01, E53, E55, E57, R20, R29, Y21, YR15, YG93, and YG95). My Nesties were used for the ovals and then a strip of Pacific Point ribbon helps tie the whole thing together. Here's a picture of the side of the box.
Now onto this week's challenge...green, white, and neutrals. This Heather Ellis image is actually part of the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things.
I used Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White Cardstock and Memento Ink for my image and then colored her skin, hair, and rain slicker with Copic Markers (E000, E01, R20, C0, E17, E25, E29, G40, and G82). I'm getting all of the practice that I can with these markers...lol! I did a little paper piecing with some retired Certainly Celery prints from Stampin' Up for the umbrella and boots and then I added a sentiment from A Muse Artstamps.
Thanks so much for visiting today, and thanks for hanging in there with me through all of these technical difficulties. As soon as I finish my dinner, I'll be off to check out what the other Ladies from the Blogger's Challenge group have been up to. Just click on the link in my right side bar if you want to join me. Have a lovely evening...Toodles! :D

More Copic Practice!
I am loving my new markers! This is my second attempt using the Copics. I need to find myself a class so I can get some better results with them, but I'm still loving them. Today was definitely a day for some coloring. When I color, it relaxes me, and it has certainly been one of those days. Short version of the story...my little one, who is afraid of the dentist, needed to have a tooth pulled!!! Wonderful news though...bravest day of both of our lives...lol! Everything went beautifully, but we were both so nervous and stressed about the whole situation that it was just nice to spend some time coloring this evening and let the stress go away.I started with this delightful Pure Innocence image from Heather Ellis. Isn't she just darling! She is colored up with quite a few Copic markers. I used B0000, BG11, BG15, E000, E01, E53, E55, E57, G24, G82, R20, R22, R24, R29, Y21, YG95, and YG97. Then I was fortunate to find this retired Stampin' Up paper in my stash. Note to self...find paper first, color second! One would think that by now, I would know that...ugh! I was also fortunate enough to find Mercy's Sketch Challenge today. This was my first time joining in, and I hope that I get to again very soon. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit this evening...Toodles! :D
