More Paper Piecing with TCP!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  Oh boy...has life been BUSY!!!  I can't believe that two weeks have gone by since my last post!!!  Going back to school, painting most of the downstairs in our home, sprucing up our kitchen a bit, and fixing and painting the front door have put stamping in the back seat lately.  Hopefully, we have everything taken care of for a little bit.  I still want to paint the upstairs bathroom and put new carpet in the bedrooms though...lol!  See...life has been busy.

I started off with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen Giron.  I made a few minor additions.  The image and sentiment are from the TCP set, Wish.  My long eared friend is colored up with Copic Markers (E11, E13, E15, R20, and R22) and the moon is paper pieced with some gingham paper from the Family Ties collection from Pebbles.  In fact, all of these patterned papers are from this collection.  I added a little pom-pom for this guy's tail and stitched around the main layer of the card.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Paris Dusk ink and then I added a button with some Blueberry Divine Twine to finish this card off.

TCP Tuesday Challenge

Hello again, Friends!  I told you that I'd be back today and here I am.  There are a few days left in the month to join us for this month's challenge from The Cat's Pajamas.  The challenge this time around is "The More the Merrier".  For more details, please head on over to Alma's Blog. 

 

I started off with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  There were many layers to the sketch so I thought that it would be a good fit for this challenge.  My delightful image and sentiment are from the Birthday Bunny set from The Cat's Pajamas.  My floppy eared friend is colored up with Copic Markers (B06, BG01, BG53, E50, E53, YG13, YG17, YR20, and YR21) and then I fussy cut him out.  All of the patterned papers are from Pebbles.  My other accents include the TCP Flower Button CutUps, the TCP Queen of Hearts CutUps, and some TCP Aqua Seam Binding.

Sweet Sunday Sketch!

 

Happy Monday Friends!  I had the day off from school, so I squeezed in a little stamping time.  Over the weekend, I visited my sweet Blogging friend, Nancy Thomas' blog.  She used a wonderful Stampavie stamp on one of her beautiful cards and she inspired me to dig through my Stampavie collection.  I found this adorable birthday mouse from the Tina Wenke collection and decided that it was time to ink him up!  I used my Copic Markers (B23, B24, C1, C3, E11, E13, E15,G82, G94, R00, RV11, RV13, Y38, YR20, YR21, and the Colorless Blender) to color him up and then I fussy cut him up.  My other details include the Circle STAX Die-namics from My Favorite Things, the Fishtail Flag Die-namics from MFT, the Sentimental Strip Die-namics from MFT with a sentiment from an MFT Pure Innocence set, a button from my stash, some Shore Baker's Twine from MFT, the Seeing Spots embossing folder, and some machine stitching.  The patterned papers are from A Muse (gingham) and Simple Stories (green polka dot). 

 

I visited Karen Giron's blog to sneak a peek at her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and this week's sketch was just perfect for my image, so I used that for this creation.

Celebrate!

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  I'm sorry to be a little late with my post but I had a hard time with this card.  My sewing machine is not working too well.  Basically, it is eating my card stock as I pass it through the machine...ugh!  After so many tries today, this girl just gave up and made the card without sewing.  Hope that you like it just the same!

Here are all of the details.  This creation is for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and for today's Blogger's Challenge (Celebrate the 4th of July) from Lisa Somerville.  My main image is from All That Scraps.  It is Sweet November's Betsy.  She is colored up with Copic Markers (B24, B37, B39, C0, C1, C3, E000, E00, E01, E23, E25, E27, E29, E30, E50, R11, R29, R59, Y32, Y35, YR12, and the Colorless Blender) and then I fussy cut her out.  She is mounted to a kraft layer that I embossed with the Seeing Spots embossing folder.  The papers are from the Let Freedom Ring collection from Pebbles.  The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Birthday Princess.  The stars and the file tab were made with MFT Die-namics dies.  I added some wooden buttons and some navy Baker's Twine to finish off the card.

Bee My Honey!

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! I'm making this post short and sweet...Hubby came home from work not feeling well and I came home from school with Pink Eye!!! I'm sorry about the photo quality of this card...it is raining and dark and dreary here...this is as good as it gets today. Here are all of the details. I started off with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch. This week's Blogger's Challenge is called Texturize It. I added lots of embossing and stitching to give this creation a little bit of extra texture. I think that the patterned papers help too. They are from Echo Park. The main image is from The Cat's Pajamas. The bear and sentiment are from the Honey Bear set. The TCP Tuesday Challenge is to use TCP stamps and heart CutUps to make a Valentine. Two for One!

Happy Saturday Friends! The weekend is here and it is a gorgeous day in New England! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Even though it is lovely out, Cinderella needs to clean the castle, so those are my plans for today...lol! I did want to take a few minutes from cleaning to share two creations with you though.

First up, my contribution to this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge. The theme is transportation. My three little penguin friends are traveling by teacup...lol! This was such a fun card to create. The sketch is from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I used the Ship Happens set from The Cat's Pajamas and a few Copic Markers (BG11, B18, C1, C3, E40, YR12, YR15, and the Colorless Blender) to match my papers from My Mind's Eye. The other accents include the Cloud Border CutUps and the Icing CutUps (turned it for the orange scallops), TCP Seam Binding and Divine Twine, a black Papertrey Ink button, some machine stitching, and the waves were made with the Die-namics Jumbo Scallop Die from MFT.

My other creation is for the sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club. As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew that I would be able to use one of those fancy-shmancy mini Bingo cards that I've had in my stash. DH and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary, so I went with a "LOVE" card. I'll keep it handy for one of those days that I'm feeling really romantic...lol! The Pure Innocence girl is from the MFT Love You With All My Heart set. She is colored up with Copic Markers (E000, E00, E01, R11, E23, E27, RV21, RV23) and paper pieced with a houndstooth scrap. My accents for this card include the Simply Scallops Die-namics, the Pretty Posies Die-namics, some more machine stitching, and another Papertrey Ink button with some Black Licorice Divine Twine.

Lots of Challenges!

Happy Friday Friends! We've hit triple digits on the thermometer here in New England!! I hope that you are staying cool! For today's card, I've combined a few of my favorite challenges. This week's Blogger's Challenge theme is summertime. We love to go bicycling as a family in the summer, so I knew that this new TCP set (Wheel Love) would be perfect for this challenge. Of course, it's not our favorite thing to do when it's 103 degrees outside...lol! You can find all of the details to play along with the Blogger's Challenge over on Lisa's blog. The sketch for this one is from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch. You can find the sketch and all of the details to play along on Karen's blog. To color up this sweet bicycling bunny, I used Copic Markers (C1, C3, E40, R22, R24, YG13, YG17, YR15, YR16, and the Colorless Blender) to match the colors for this week's TCP Tuesday Challenge. This week's colors are Watermelon Red, Pumpkin Orange, and Grass Green. If you'd like to join this challenge, just head over to Alma's blog. The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye and the buttons are from Papertrey Ink. I also used the Cloud Border CutUps from TCP and the Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics and the Open Scallop Edge Die-namics from MFT. I added a little bit of machine sewing to finish this off. My First Cat's Pajamas Card!

Happy Tuesday! If you stopped by yesterday, I mentioned that I picked up some new stamps on Sunday. My new stamps are my very first set from The Cat's Pajamas!! This won't be my last set either! I love this trio of penguins and all of their fun antics. This set is called, Ship Happens. Along with these penguins, the set includes three fun and sassy sentiments. I stuck with just the image for this card though. My design is based on Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. You can find it here to play along too.

All of the patterned papers are from Jillibean Soup including the sweet flowered print that I paper pieced onto the tea cup. The ribbon and buttons are from American Crafts. The Basic Black card base and Cool Caribbean layer are from Stampin' Up. I needed to use a few Copic Markers (BG000, C1, C3, E31, E35, Y21, Y32, YG11, YG13, and YR16) for some of the little details on these guys and then I cut them out with my circle and scalloped Nesties. Nothing too fancy or fabulous, but I'm happy with how it all turned out! I'm looking forward to playing with this set a bit more.

Just Splashing By!

Good Monday to you! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! I thought that I was going to be able to post this yesterday, but the day got away from me. My family went golfing and I went shopping with my parents! It was a very good trip. I bought a new shower curtain and some bathroom accessories, a couple of new pairs of pants for when I head back to school, and then we headed out to a stamping/scrapbooking store, and of course, I found a few things there as well. It was a terrific day!

On Saturday, I somehow came across a "new to me" stamping company when I was exploring some crafty things on etsy. It is called, 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. You all know how much I {heart} cute stamps, so I bought a few of Heidi's digital images, and I must say...they are quite CUTE!! This adorable pair is called Manatee Friends. I printed them on Beckett Expressions card stock and colored them up with Copic Markers (BG10, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, E00, E01, E35, E37, R20, R29, YG13, YG17, YR15, and the Colorless Blender). Some Star Dust Stickles were added for a bit of sparkle too. I needed a layout with a large area for the main image so I headed over to Karen Giron's blog and just as luck would have it...her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for this week was perfect! I dug out my Coluzzles for the ovals and then I distressed them a bit. The patterned paper is from yesterday's shopping trip. It is from TPC Studio. I love these polka dots. The other side has these wonderful rows of ocean critters, but that was much too busy for this creation. I sewed the polka dotted square to a layer of Certainly Celery and attached that to a white card base. Then I added a strip of Certainly Celery with a touch of May Arts gingham and some more sewing to dress it up. The sentiment is a free digital one from Pink Cat Studio. I added an American Crafts button to finish it off. I don't make too many square cards, but I really like how this one turned out. Hope you do too! Birthday Hugs!

Happy Monday all! It's a very wet and gloomy Monday here in New England...hence the dark and fuzzy photograph! So sorry! I'll have to try again when the sun returns. I've made this one for my Daddy's 69th birthday today! I started off with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and I combined it with the High Hopes Stamps Little Gem Challenge. My main image is Huggable Hank and I colored him up with Copic markers (C1, C3, Y11, Y21, YG13, and YG17). There are a few A Muse Twinkling Gems in the corners of my cream panel that I layered onto some retired Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi. The polka dot paper is from the Farm Fresh collection by October Afternoon. I found this matching ribbon in my stash from Martha Stewart and then I added a matching button to go along with my computer generated sentiment.
