Sketches!!!

Good Morning Friends! Our power just came back on, so I thought that I'd better post quickly before we end up losing it again. We lost a little bit of food in our refrigerator, but aside from that, we faired Hurricane Irene pretty well. I'm grateful that we only lost power, water, and telephone for 17 hours. Things could have been much worse.

Luckily, I had Jen's August Sketch For You To Try and last Wednesday's sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club printed out. Just click on the colored links to see the sketches and play along. I couldn't do any sewing on my cards, but I was happy that I could still make cards.

First up, Jen's sketch. I used this darling little ant from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. She's colored up with Prisma Color Pencils. I used Papertrey Ink Kraft card stock for the card base. It's embossed with the Seeing Spots embossing folder. The sentiment and gingham paper are from A*Muse. The flowered paper is from October Afternoon and the orange print is from Stampin' Up. I also added a Stampin' Up button and some Divine Twine.


My other card is for the MFT Sketch. I colored up and paper pieced this sweet little Pure Innocence girl from the MFT Make Mine A Double set. This time around, I used my Copic Markers (BG000, BG72, E000, E00, E01, E23, E25, E33, G20, G21, G94, G99, and R11). The white and Kraft card stock is from Papertrey Ink and I used some papers from the Minuet collection from Memory Box. My accents include the MFT Die-namics Textile Rectangle for the sentiment piece, Baker's Twine, a Stampin' Up button, and the MFT Die-namics Little Open Scallop Strip.

Have A Blooming Good Day!

Happy Friday Friends! I'm looking forward to the weekend! Tomorrow, I'll be stamping with friends and that's always a good thing! I hope that you have something fun and crafty to do! Today's card is for this week's Blogger's Challenge (use the colors green, peach, and white) and for Forgotten Stamp Friday. To play along with either one of these challenges, just click on the colored words above. My "Forgotten Stamp" for this week is this sweet bunny from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I've had him for quite awhile, and this is the first time that he has ever seen ink! He is colored up with Copic Markers (BG000, C1, R20, YG63, YG67, YR00, and YR12) and then cut out and popped up on a circle of A*Muse Gingham card stock. The green patterned paper is from a retired pack by Stampin' Up. That panel is sewn onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. To bring some green over to the right half of my card, I added a button with some craft thread to the top and I stamped my sentiment (from the MFT Blooming Good Day set) in Old Olive ink on the bottom corner. It's been quite a busy week, so I kept this one very clean and simple. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Good Friday Morning! I hope that you enjoyed your week. It rained for four straight days here, but it was still a fun week! After all, we go back to school on Monday, so we made the best of it no matter what the weather!

This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use the colors green, red, and yellow and I combined that with Jen Del Muro's Sketch For You to Try. I started off with this adorable dragon and sentiment from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Poor thing! I must say...I love his ice bag, but it doesn't seem to be doing a thing for his fever! My image is colored up with my Copic Markers (C1, E17, E35, R24, R27, R29, Y11, Y21, YG13, YG17, and the Colorless Blender) and I added some Stardust Stickles to the little guy's wings and ears. My green card stock is from Coordinations, the red patterned paper is from Stampin' Up, and the yellow polka dotted paper is from Bo Bunny. A bit of sewing and a few American Crafts buttons finish this one off. I did run into one small problem though. It seems that I left off the half circle on the bottom of the sketch...ugh! I can't do too much about that right now. Let's hope that Jen doesn't mind...lol!

This Is Me!

This is exactly what I've looked like this past week of Spring vacation! I have been cleaning, organizing, donating, and just throwing away whatever I could get my little hands on...lol! It's been a very good week! When I found this image in my newly organized box of High Hopes Rubber Stamps, I knew that I had to use her for this week's Blogger's Challenge. Our challenge is to use the colors blue, orange, and moss. I went with Stampin' Up's Night of Navy and Mellow Moss. The patterned paper is from Chatterbox and it had all three colors in it. My little cleaning girl is colored up with Copic Markers (B21, B23, B26, C0, C1, E000, E01, E29, E31, E35, G40, G82, R20, Y21, Y26, YR00, YR15, and YR18.) I added a computer generated sentiment and a few different orange colored Doodlebug buttons to complete this one.

My darling husband took this week off as well. He has been busy too. He wired the barn with electricity and built me a new stamping desk!!! I'm off to paint it once I make some lunch. Birthday Hugs!

Happy Monday all! It's a very wet and gloomy Monday here in New England...hence the dark and fuzzy photograph! So sorry! I'll have to try again when the sun returns. I've made this one for my Daddy's 69th birthday today! I started off with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and I combined it with the High Hopes Stamps Little Gem Challenge. My main image is Huggable Hank and I colored him up with Copic markers (C1, C3, Y11, Y21, YG13, and YG17). There are a few A Muse Twinkling Gems in the corners of my cream panel that I layered onto some retired Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi. The polka dot paper is from the Farm Fresh collection by October Afternoon. I found this matching ribbon in my stash from Martha Stewart and then I added a matching button to go along with my computer generated sentiment.
