I probably should have titled this entry "Card Making Simply" because the only thing stamped on this card is the sentiment (Stampin' Up's Sincere Salutations). Sharon Johnson's blog No Time to Stamp? is just filled with wonderful ideas for Cuttlebug embossing folders. Actually, it is filled with all types of fabulous ideas for card makers. She is always sharing something wonderful with us! A family friend's daughter was married this past weekend. Unfortunately, we were not able to attend, but I still wanted to send her a little something. Her wedding party was dressed in a beautiful shade of light pink. In fact, part of her wedding dress was pink as well. So, I started with a sheet of Core'dinations cardstock in Amaryllis. I was anxious to see how it would look embossed with my 'bug embossing folder Birds and Swirls. I'm thrilled with the results! The impressions are nice and deep and crisp. I only embossed about two-thirds of the Amaryllis layer and then I used my scoring blade for the horizontal lines (I so NEED to buy a Scor-Pal...lol!). I then stamped the sentiment and added some black organdy ribbon. The card didn't look "balanced" to me, so I added the three black brads to finish it off. I then attached that layer to a black card base and...here is my quick and simple card! Thanks for the inspiration Sharon!
Happy Wednesday everyone! So glad that you could stop by today...Toodles! :D
