Storage Units, Ink & More Meets Basic Grey!

I had a lot of fun today participating in a couple of the weekend challenges. When I was admiring Dawn Easton's work, I discovered the Our Creative Corner Challenge. This week, the challenge was to use Basic Grey paper. After looking through my stash, I found this sheet of Lily Kate just waiting to be part of a creation! I pulled my All Things Grow With Love set from Storage Units, Ink & More and got right to work. (Only TWO more days until the big unveiling of all of the sets!!!) Another challenge that I love is the Featured Stamper Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. I haven't had the chance to participate in this one for some time, but today I was able to fit it in. I used Michele's card to jump start my creation. I was inspired by her layout and how she used the ribbon. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by tonight...Toodles!!! :D

I Couldn't Resist!

Good Friday Morning to all of you! This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use a favorite resist technique. I have to admit that I don't really know too many techniques when it comes to stamping, let alone resist techniques, but that's why it's called a challenge...right? Then I remembered my Stampin' Up demonstrator showing me how to do the Crayon Resist Technique a while back. Thanks a bunch Clara! You can find step by step directions for this technique over on Splitcoaststampers. Just click here.

My card (just click on it for a closer look at this technique) uses a few of my favorite retired Stampin' Up products...the Delight in Life stamp set, one of the sentiments from the Living Large stamp set, and my most favorite card stock color...Cool Caribbean. The other accents include a black layer embossed with my Swiss Dots folder in my 'bug, a few Kaiser Craft self-adhesive Pearls, and a bit of Swirl ribbon and Polka Dot ribbon from May Arts.

I'm certain that there are a few other Resist Techniques out there in the stamping world, so I'm off to check out what the other members of the group came up with. Just click on the Blogger's Challenge logo in my sidebar to visit their blogs too.

Today is also Kendra Gile's turn to share a Storage Units, Ink & More Sneak Peek. Hop by her blog, Inkin' It Up! to see her adorable creation and a chance to win the Leap Frog set! Thanks so much for stopping by today...Toodles!!! :D

Stamping Simply

I probably should have titled this entry "Card Making Simply" because the only thing stamped on this card is the sentiment (Stampin' Up's Sincere Salutations). Sharon Johnson's blog No Time to Stamp? is just filled with wonderful ideas for Cuttlebug embossing folders. Actually, it is filled with all types of fabulous ideas for card makers. She is always sharing something wonderful with us! A family friend's daughter was married this past weekend. Unfortunately, we were not able to attend, but I still wanted to send her a little something. Her wedding party was dressed in a beautiful shade of light pink. In fact, part of her wedding dress was pink as well. So, I started with a sheet of Core'dinations cardstock in Amaryllis. I was anxious to see how it would look embossed with my 'bug embossing folder Birds and Swirls. I'm thrilled with the results! The impressions are nice and deep and crisp. I only embossed about two-thirds of the Amaryllis layer and then I used my scoring blade for the horizontal lines (I so NEED to buy a Scor-Pal...lol!). I then stamped the sentiment and added some black organdy ribbon. The card didn't look "balanced" to me, so I added the three black brads to finish it off. I then attached that layer to a black card base and...here is my quick and simple card! Thanks for the inspiration Sharon!

Happy Wednesday everyone! So glad that you could stop by today...Toodles! :D

Sneak Peek #2 and My Giveaway!!!

Lucky me!!! I have the privilege of sharing the second sneak peek for Storage Units, Ink & More!! This delightful new set of stamps is called All Things Grow With Love. I used four different ones from the set to create this card. All of the images were stamped with Black Stazon ink and then I used my watercolor pencils to bring them to life! The sentiment layers perfectly onto the scallop circle that was made with a piece of Core'dinations Raspberry and my Stampin' Up Scallop Circle Punch. This particular color matches Stampin' Up's Summer Picnic Designer Paper wonderfully, as does Core'dinations Tranquil Blue. Which is what I used here with some faux stitching added. I also attached a Making Memories Circle Clip with a piece of plaid ribbon from Michaels.

Are YOU ready to win this set??? Denise has been gracious enough to provide me with an All Things Grow With Love set to give away!! All that you need to do is leave me a comment on this post and I'll randomly pick a name on Monday, June 23rd at 7:00 pm EST!!! Best of luck to you! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit...Toodles!!! :D

Happy Birthday Blogger's Challenge!

This card is for Blogger's Challenge #52. That means that the Blogger's Challenge is one year old this week! Thank you Lisa Somerville! (she's the one to come up with all of these wonderful challenges). I haven't been part of this fantastic group for all 52 weeks, but it has been so much fun for the weeks that I've been around!

This week's challenge called for a "manly" card. I'm not quite sure how "manly" this card is. It has a grill, so I'm going with it...lol! This Stampendous stamp is called Changito Chef and I paired him up with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. He's stamped on a piece of Papertrey Ink White Cardstock and colored up with watercolor pencils and markers. The card base is Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip. I added some Stampin' Up Old Olive and a piece of Core'dinations Jaybird to go with the Chatterbox patterned paper. Of course, I had to add a Doodlebug Designs button and a little bit of piercing in the corners to finish it off.

I'm off to get some much needed ice cream (it's been one of THOSE days...lol) and then I'll be checking out what everyone else from the group has done. If you'd like to do the same, just click on the Blogger's Challenge logo on the right side of my blog.

It's a Celebration!

This week's challenge over on A Spoon Full of Sugar is Celebrations! I'm thinking that anniversaries count as a celebration, so here is my contribution. I colored Lily to look like me and Milo is colored up to look like my darling husband. Our anniversary is coming up, so now I'm actually ahead of the game for a change...lol! Along with this incredibly adorable image, I also used Stampin' Up's soon to be retired Circle of Friendship. Stampin' Up's Real Red and Bashful Blue colors were pulled right out of the Summer Picnic Designer Paper. A sweet card for a special celebration!

If you have a chance, please check out yesterday's post on my blog. I shared some exciting news for me and there is some very exciting news for YOU too...the Motherload of giveaways!!! Thanks so much for stopping by today...Toodles!!! :D

Blogger's Challenge Friday!!

Whip out your sunglasses...you're gonna need them!!! Today's Blogger's Challenge is to use the colors Turquoise, Green Galore, and Pink (I went with Stampin' Up's Pixie Pink). This card uses some of my favorite retired Stampin' Up sets...Silly Sealife and Small Sayings. When we are given a color challenge, I really try to stay with just the listed colors. I didn't have any Pixie Pink buttons, so I used some Hero Arts clear buttons with Pixie Pink card stock 1/2" circles. I like everything to match as close as possible. The little Doodlebug Designs brads are a perfect match to the Green Galore panel that I ran through my 'bug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I finished my card off with a little faux stitching on the bottom corners.

I cannot wait to see what the other ladies in the Blogger's Challenge group came up with. If you'd like to as well, please click on the Blogger's Challenge logo (on the right side of my blog) for all of their links. Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and thanks so much for stopping by...Toodles!!! :D

Here's Lily Again!

Last weekend, I was having some more fun with these sweet Rachelle Anne Miller images from Stampavie so I thought that I'd share another card with you tonight! Unfortunately, I only purchased two Rachelle stamps so until I get some more, you'll be seeing a lot of this one and the Lily and Milo one from the post the other day...lol! Again, I paired this image with this wonderful sentiment from A Muse. This delightful patterned paper is from Chatterbox. The card stock colors that I used were Stampin' Up's Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy. I added a piece of Making Memories hardware with some May Arts striped ribbon to finish this card off.

Have a wonderful evening and thanks so much for stopping by...Toodles! :D

Ugh!...What a Mess!

Late last night, I got a call to come into work today (I'm a substitute teacher). So I was a good girl and got my blog post for today's Blogger's Challenge all set and saved in the computer and figured that I'd just post first thing before I had to leave for school this morning. Well, what do I go and do...I accidently DELETED it!!! Ugh!! So here I go again!

Here is my card for today's Blogger's Challenge...using Black and White. I was in need of a few sympathy cards and thought that this combination would be a bit elegant. I'm going to quickly tell you the details because I just came in the door and have to head out again!

Paper: Stampin' Up Basic Black and Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select White Card Stock
Stamps: Stampin' Up Floral Background, My Sentiments Exactly
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Hero Arts Pearls, Stampin' Up Ticket Corner Punch, Black Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals

Lily and Milo!

My last post told you about these adorable new stamps that I discovered. I was only able to show you the little girl, Lily. Today's card includes her sweet friend Milo. What a cute couple they are! The name of this Stampavie stamp is called For You and I was able to purchase mine from The Stamping Cottage. The sentiment stamp on this card is from the Stampin' Up set Lots of Thoughts and then I used my Stampin' Up's oval punches with it. The colors scheme for this particular card is from a challenge that was posted on the blog, A Spoon Full of Sugar. The challenge was to use blue, pink, and green. In this case, I used Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Old Olive.

I learned something new (at least to me) from my friend Robin. She made a card using 1/2 inch circles to make a scallop-like border on one of her creations, so I tried it out. I like the look that it created on the bottom of my card. Thanks a bunch Robin! I didn't have the right shade of pink buttons so I punched out two Pretty in Pink cardstock circles and added them to some clear buttons that I had in my stash.

I'll be back tomorrow with this week's Blogger's Challenge. So glad that you could stop by today...Toodles! :D
