This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a card using the Color Blocking Technique. I haven't done this technique for a while. The first time that I tried it was when it was a challenge over on SCS about two years ago!!! That time, I used just different blocks of colored cardstock. This time, I used the same sheet of patterned paper (Chatterbox) and made it into rectangular blocks to fit on my card front.I just love the mix of colors in this paper and took my inspiration from there. The paper reminds me of a garden, so I pulled out my new Storage Units, Ink & More set, Butterfly Garden, because every flower garden needs a few butterflies fluttering about! The butterfly images are stamped with Black Stazon and watercolored with Stampin' Up's Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive inks. The main image is layered onto a scalloped, eggplant rectangle that I made with my Nesties. A little bit of piercing was added to the corners for a simple accent. I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and my Stampin' Up oval punches to finish it off.
