*Sneak Peek* for Storage Units, Ink and More!

Here is a sneak peek of the new set, Look What I Caught from Storage Units, Ink and More! The release is on Friday, August 1st and you won't want to miss it! You can see a few more sneak peeks over on the Storage Units, Ink and More Blog before the big reveal. This was such a fun set to work with! My little one has discovered fishing this summer and what better way to remember all of the "ones that got away" than to write down the stories in a "Fish Tales" notebook! I started off with a notebook from Target and covered it with some Stampin' Up designer paper from an older Christmas pack. All of my images were stamped with Stazon and then I cut them out and mounted them with dimensionals. I made the water and waves by tearing some Core'dinations Cardstock in Royal. It may be a bit difficult to see, but I attached real fishing line to the pole. The letters were made Core'dinations Cardstock in Berry with my Cuttlebug and Tag Sale dies. The best part of this project was my little ones face lit up when I showed him! He's quite excited to have his very own notebook! Would you like to sneak a peek at a couple more new sets? Christmas in July!

Happy Friday Everyone! I can't believe how busy this summer has been! Between doctor appointments, swimming lessons, jury duty, and religious education classes, the last few weeks have left little time for stamping and blogging. Thankfully, I've been able to make time to participate in the Blogger's Challenge each week. This week's challenge is to make a Christmas card. I ended up using a lot of different companies on this one so here is the low down. The Polka Dot Penguins are from Stampendous. The sentiment, Bashful Blue, Real Red, and oval punches are all from Stampin' Up. The A Muse snowflakes are embossed with Stampin' Up's Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The plaid ribbon is from Michaels. Lastly, the patterned paper is from DCWV. I told you that there were a lot of different companies here...lol! It's always nice to have choices. Yes! This Was A Challenge!

Happy Friday to you! This week's Blogger's Challenge was a color challenge...Stampin' Up's Sahara Sand, Really Rust, Mellow Moss, Regal Rose, and Blue Bayou. Right away, I had a big problem...I don't have anything Sahara Sand...not a marker, crayon, ink pad, scrap of paper...nothing!! That's when I decided to call my Stampin' Up demonstrator Clara. She was sweet enough to share her Sahara Sand ink pad and a sheet of cardstock with me. Thanks a bunch Clara! Now I was set to get to work, or at least I thought that I was. I decided on this image from the Stampin' Up set Long-Time Friend (retired) and used inks and watercolor crayons in all of the required colors to color up my image. (I was able to sneak in the Regal Rose on the two little flowers on the bottom right.) The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Cute Critters (retired) and I used the Linen background on the Sahara Sand panel and the card base. My layout started off as this week's Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge with a few little changes. I was ready to put my creation together and then realized that I was completely out of Really Rust cardstock! Oh bother! I didn't know what to do. After frantically digging through my sheets of paper, I found that I had a new package of Stampin' Up Fall Flowers Designer Papers. Thankfully, there is a sheet in there with Really Rust flowers! Yippee...I was saved!! After all of this, I finally have my card finished for this week's challenge.

A Buggy Challenge!

Happy Friday Everyone! If it is Friday, then it is time for another Blogger's Challenge! This week's challenge was to use bugs in your creation. Apparently, I don't have a lot of buggy stamps...lol! I just used my butterflies last week and a few weeks before that it was the new little bees from Stampendous. I wanted to share something that I hadn't used for a challenge before, so I found my Bee Happy Topper from Stampendous and got right to work!

The image is stamped with Black Stazon and then colored with my new Koh-I-Noor Woodless Colour Pencils. I really like working with them. Gina Krupsky of Gina K. Designs has a wonderful tutorial on how to use these pencils. You can find it here. I actually used my Stampin' Up Blender Pen because I've never tried working with odorless mineral spirits and stumps, but I'm hoping to give that a whirl this weekend! I'll let you all know how it works out. Now back to the card details...lol! The card base is made from a piece of Stampin' Up Cranberry Crisp and then a layer of Certainly Celery. I then added some Chatterbox Summer Bias Plaid and used the flip side for the flowers. The accents include some Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon, a little bit of faux stitching, and a little clump of buttons to complete this card.

Blogger's Challenge!!!

This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a card using the Color Blocking Technique. I haven't done this technique for a while. The first time that I tried it was when it was a challenge over on SCS about two years ago!!! That time, I used just different blocks of colored cardstock. This time, I used the same sheet of patterned paper (Chatterbox) and made it into rectangular blocks to fit on my card front.

I just love the mix of colors in this paper and took my inspiration from there. The paper reminds me of a garden, so I pulled out my new Storage Units, Ink & More set, Butterfly Garden, because every flower garden needs a few butterflies fluttering about! The butterfly images are stamped with Black Stazon and watercolored with Stampin' Up's Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive inks. The main image is layered onto a scalloped, eggplant rectangle that I made with my Nesties. A little bit of piercing was added to the corners for a simple accent. I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and my Stampin' Up oval punches to finish it off.

Butterfly Garden!

I have two things to share with you today! Both use Storage Units, Ink & More's new set, Butterfly Garden. My card uses a color combination that I haven't tried before...Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Core'dinations Heartfelt (a shade similar to Rose Red). My butterfly is stamped on a square of Papertrey's Stamper's Select White Cardstock and colored up with my watercolor pencils. I added some Star Dust Stickles to make the sparkly wings and I paper pierced around the image to add a little interest before I layered this image onto a scallop square make with my Nesties. A touch of May Arts ribbon and a little bit faux stitching complete my card.

The next project that I have to share is something that my little one and I created to give to the Principal and the Administrative Assistant at school. I took care of the designing and he took care of the coloring...lol! We started off with a little tin that I picked up for $1.00 at Target and then we added an ivy plant from the local florist. These butterfly images and sentiment are also from the Storage Units, Ink & More set, Butterfly Garden. One of the nice things about this set is that it has it's share of elegant looking butterfly images and cute ones as well. We made the little front decoration with my oval classic and scallop Nesties. I attached it to the tin with Stampin' Up dimensionals. To make the smaller version of a garden stake, we used circle classic and scallop Nesties and a wooden skewer. A token of thanks for two ladies that do so much for our school.
