Blogger's Challenge!!!

Happy Friday Everyone! This week's Blogger's Challenge was a wonderful color challenge...Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Brocade Blue! I am loving these colors!!

I was never able to log onto my computer yesterday so I was not aware that Dixie (One of the cow's on Anna and Alan's farm) finally gave birth! When I logged on this morning to check out all of the farm news on Anna's blog, I was thrilled to pieces!!! I'm sending this card off in today's mail for them! The card base is So Saffron with a layer of Chocolate Chip and some Certainly Celery designer paper. I couldn't believe that I didn't have any Brocade Blue cardstock, but I found these buttons from American Crafts that seemed to match very well. The sweet image is another one from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and the sentiment is from a Studio G clear $1.00 set. Very simple card, but sometimes that's just right!

Watercolor Garden II

I just love the elegant look that Stampin' Up's Watercolor Garden II can give a card. I needed a sympathy card to send off to my cousin so I started with today's sketch challenge over on SCS and then changed it up a little bit. Along with Watercolor Garden II, I used Stampin' Up's Floral Background and Canvas Background along with a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly. The main colors are Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery with a touch of Ballet Blue. Because of the different layers and backgrounds, I used just a bit of paper piercing and the corners on the main image layer are made with my ticket corner punch.

Blogger's Challenge!

This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use chipboard. I have a little confession...I don't own any!!! I did however, save the back of a notebook that was all used up, so I decided to run it through my Cuttlebug with these sweet flower blossom dies and make some chipboard flowers. I also used some Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue to layer onto the chipboard flowers.

This poor lunchbox tin has been sitting in my stamping area for over a year just begging to be altered!! I used some of my favorite retired Stampin' Up Designer Paper (Sarah) and Modge Podge to adhere it to the tin. I also used Modge Podge on the outside of the paper to protect it. Then I glued on my chipboard flowers and made some stems with some polka dotted paper.

Blogger's Challenge...Finally!!

This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a triangular shaped box. My box was made using the directions that were found on Becky Oehlers's blog. What a darling little party favor or quick little something to pass along to someone! Because this was my first try with this, I decided to keep it very simple. I started off by layering some Chatterbox patterned paper (Cottage Pixie Garden) to my box. My Elzybells Flower Girl is stamped in Stazon ink and colored up with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from one of those $1.00 Studio G sets that I picked up at AC Moore. (Everything around here is more brown than green, so I'm sure that I could pass this little treat box along to any one of my colleagues and they'd be thrilled to think that "Spring is is the air!") The larger scalloped oval was made with my Marvy punch and the tiny one was made with my Punch Bunch punch. I added a little bit of sponging and paper piercing around the bumps and a touch of some May Arts ribbon from my stash and that is basically it. Very simple! I apologize that this wasn't posted on Friday like the rest of the ladies from the Blogger's Challenge group. My camera has not been cooperating with me!!!

Norman...I LOVE You!!!

Now, you may be thinking that Norman is my husband's name, but it's not!!! (Don't worry Dear...I still love you too...lol!) Norman is this adorable little lobster catcher and as soon as I saw him on Anna's blog, I knew I had to make arrangements for Norman to come and stay at my house...lol! I immediately went over to the High Hopes Rubber Stamps site and ordered Norman and his little friends! I ordered a few other things too that I can't wait to use, and the nice people over there were so sweet to send along a few extra goodies for me as well (Thank You Tina!!)

Norman is stamped with Black Stazon onto Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select Card Stock. I then colored up my new little friend and his lobsters with a mixture of some water-based markers (an assorted package of 100 markers from Michaels) and some watercolor pencils. My sentiment is from A Muse and I added some striped May Arts Ribbon. The soft blue paper is from Chatterbox and the red and white paper is made by Me and My Big Ideas. I hope you love Norman and his friends as much as I do!

Blogger's Challenge!!!

This card is for this week's Blogger's Challenge. The challenge is to make a card with the long note's layout on page 65 of the Spring-Summer Stampin' Up catalog. It is such a fun layout and I can see myself using it again!

The card base measures 6-5/8" x 3-1/4" and it is made from a sheet of So Saffron. I stamped the little flower from the Simply Said set in Versamark and then I used a white gel pen for the centers of the flowers. (If you click on the picture, you'll be able to see the details a bit better.) The circular piece is another piece of that wonderful For Peeps Sake paper from Imaginsce that I love so much! I used my mini scallop scissors on a sheet of Chocolate Chip and layered it behind the patterened paper. This Martha Stewart ribbon from Michaels matched perfectly so it seemed like a great choice. Because of the brown details, I stamped all of my images in Chocolate Chip ink. The froggie, the dragonfly, and the mushroom are all stamped on Whisper White and then colored and added to the card with Dimensionals. I added some Star Dust Stickles for some sparkle and there you have it.

Jen's Sketch

Ugh! I'm having a heck of a time posting today on Blogger! I am now trying to post this on a different computer and see if that helps. I guess if your reading this, then it must be working now...lol! Here's my card for Jen's Sketch For You To Try. I just love sketches and Jen always has a fantastic one posted each weekend. If you'd like to play along, head on over to her blog.

Because it's getting so late here and because I've typed a blurb about this card more than once today...ugh, I'm going to just quickly give you the details. The card base is Stampin' Up's Night of Navy with accents of Old Olive, Real Red, and Bashful Blue. The flower chain and birdhouse stamp are Studio G $1.00 Stamps from AC Moore. The Thinking of You sentiment is from A Muse. I also used my Stampin' Up Scallop Circle Punch and my new Cuttlebug embossing folder. I added a little bit of paper piercing here and there, and here you have it...Jen's wonderful sketch.

Last of the March Birthdays!!!

When March rolls around, I know that I need to get busy making birthday cards. There are so many of them between my family and my friends. This one will be for my aunt. Her birthday is tomorrow.

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge to start me off. The more I look at this card, the happier I am. This is a good thing because this card has taken me close to two hours to make!!! Nothing seemed to go right at first, but it finally took a turn for the better. Thank goodness I had such a great sketch to start off with...Thanks Beate! I used many of my new goodies...Square Nesties (Scallop and Classic), Imaginisce paper, and my new flower stamp is also from Imaginisce. I picked it up for $1.00 at my local scrapbook store. I colored it up with my Watercolor Pencils and Stampin' Up Blender Pen. I also used Papertrey Ink's Paper Tray set for the sentiment, some May Arts ribbon, and some of Stampin' Up's Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. Hopefully, Aunt Loretta will like it too!

Happy Friday!

One of the best days of the week...isn't it! I'm having such a good day! I've gone to the gym, the beds are made, the dishes are done, I had a fun time chit-chatting with a friend on the telephone, and I had the chance to make a card!

This delightful Stampendous stamp arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to make something with it. I also used a sweet sentiment from A Muse and some more of that adorable For Peep's Sake paper from Imaginisce. My little owl friend is stamped with Black Stazon onto some Paper Trey White Card Stock and then colored up with my colored pencils and a Stampin' Up Blender Pen. My new square Nesties also arrived yesterday (yes...I'm spending some of my birthday cash...lol!) My card base, Scalloped Square Nestie, and the one inch paper pierced strip are all made from Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip. I used my Stampin' Up Ticket Corner Punch and some Doodlebug brads in each corner and I added some May Arts organdy from Sweet Miss Daisy to finish the whole thing off.
