Yippee! It's Friday! When Friday rolls around, so does Blogger's Challenge (when I post on time, that is...lol!). This week, our challenge was Birthdays. I liked Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch so much that I decided to flip it and use it again for today's card. Then I happened to come across LeAnne's beautiful blog again and the Color Throwdown for this week (Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, and Certainly Celery.) I just love this color combination! Everything seemed to go together so well in my mind, so I decided to combine all three challenges, and this is what I came up with.
All of the patterned papers are more retired ones from my Stampin' Up stash. My main image is from their Crazy for Cupcakes set and the sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set. I used a little button instead of the candle and then I added a bit of faux stitching to dress up the corners. Be sure to stop by the blogs of the others Ladies in the Blogger's Challenge group when you have a chance. I'm certain they have some wonderful birthday creations to share with you. A Little Behind!
Well, here it is late Sunday night and I am just now getting my Blogger's Challenge from Friday posted...ugh! Sorry for being a little bit behind. Our challenge was to use die cuts or punches. I went with both. I used my Nesties for the circles and my Stampin' Up punches for the ovals. Except for the sentiment from Papertrey Ink (which is still available through their website), this card is made with all retired things from Stampin' Up, but they are all things that I still love to use. The flowers from Watercolor Garden II are stamped with Certainly Celery and Not Quite Navy ink and the background stamp is Floral. I added a few Making Memories brads and a swirl clip with a piece of celery ribbon for accents. The designer paper was from a free Stampin' Up pad a few years ago. I'm really trying to use up some of the things that I have. It makes me feel a little bit better about buying some new items...lol! This wonderful layout is from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. If you'd like to play along, you can find her blog here. And, if you'd like to see some more ideas to go with your punches and die cuts, then be sure to check out what the other Ladies in the Blogger's Challenge group have come up with. Combining Challenges
Happy Friday! It's so nice to be able to stamp and actually post!!! Life got in the way last week and I was not able to do the wonderful sketch that Lisa came up with for Blogger's Challenge. So this week, I decided to combine last week's sketch with this week's color challenge (pink, brown, and white).
First off, I have to apologize for the photograph. Normally, my camera doesn't like green, but apparently, it doesn't like pink either...lol! This was the best shot that I could get...ugh! All of the supplies for this card are from Stampin' Up, unless otherwise noted. The base is Pretty in Pink. Then, I layered on a piece of retired, printed paper in Close to Cocoa. I added a couple of strips of faux stitching and the sentiment from the Priceless set to this layer as well. The butterflies were stamped in Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa. The pink patterned paper is layered onto a white layer that I punched some scallops onto. I tied some May Arts ribbon onto this layer to finish my card off.
There you have it...two Blogger's Challenges combined into one card! Just click on the Blogger's Challenge logo in my right sidebar to see what the other Ladies have been up to. Thanks so much for stopping by today...Toodles! :D

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! 2010 is finally here! Hard to believe. This has been such a crazy week that I just realized that today was Friday and I needed to publish my creation for this week's Blogger's Challenge. I am completely mixed up with my days this week...ugh! Our BC theme is "Celebration". Babies are always a fun reason to celebrate, and I need a few different baby girl cards, so that was my choice for today. I used Stampin' Up's retired Baby Firsts set (Thanks for letting me borrow it Clara!) and Small Sayings along with some retired Stampin Up paper, SU's Regal Rose card stock, and some paper from DCWV. I added a few American Crafts buttons and a strip with some faux stitching. In fact, this sketch was a Blogger's Challenge back in November that I missed, so I thought that I'd combine it with this challenge.
I'm off to clean up the stamping studio because it is one, gigantic MESS! (Exciting way to spend a Friday evening, huh...lol!) Then I'm going to check out what all of the other Ladies in the BC group came up with. Just click on the Blogger's Challenge logo in my right sidebar for some more "celebration" inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...Toodles! :D
