For Mother's Day

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!  Hope that you are all well!  I have quick post today for this week's Blogger's Challenge.  The theme is called, "Celebrating Mom."  To play along, please visit Lisa Somerville's blog.

My Elzybell's image is colored up with Copic Markers (B0000, BG000, BG01, C7, G21, Y21, Y26, YG13, YG17, YR14) and then mounted to a piece of Papertrey Ink kraft card stock.  The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  I finished this card off with a wooden button and some machine stitching.

Happy Friday Friends! As I promised yesterday, I'm back today with this week's Blogger's Challenge (Birthday theme) and I also used some of my forgetten stamps for Forgotten Stamp Friday. If you'd like to play along too, you can just click on the challenge links above.

This is actually a CASE of a card that my wonderful friend Clara made. You can find her card here. The flower stamp is from the Peeking Posies set from Hero Arts. It is a favorite of mine and one of the first stamp sets that I bought when I started stamping. I fell in love with the set when Trudee Sauer would create such beautiful cards with it. I haven't used it in forever though. The sentiment is from Elzybells (sadly, they are out of business). I purchased this stamp over the summer and was thrilled to get some ink on it. The flower is colored up with Copic Markers (G21, G82, R22, R24, Y21, and Y32) and I added some Star Dust Stickles to make it sparkle. The image is paired up with Stampin' Up's Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, and some retired SU designer paper. The yellow polka dotted paper is from Bo-Bunny. The buttons were made with the SU Button die in Cameo Coral. (I really like everything to match...lol!)

Blogger's Challenge...Blue, Rust, Mustard

Happy Friday Stampers! Have you been shopping today? Did you get any great Black Friday deals? I hope so! We are home today and that is just fine with me. Maybe we'll brave the elements and the crowds after lunch and see what we can find.

As I promised in yesterday's post, I'm back today with my creation for this week's Blogger's Challenge. We are to use the colors Blue, Rust, and Mustard. Now I realize that my card doesn't scream, "Winter is coming!", but I thought that this image would be perfect for these colors so I went in that direction. When Elzybells Rubber Stamps was going out of business this past summer, I treated myself to as many goodies as I could. This delightful image and sentiment were part of my package. The image is colored up with Copic Markers (B21, B24, E08, E15, Y21, Y26, YG63, YG67, and YR18). I used some retired Stampin' Up patterned papers and the large panel was sewed onto the rust card stock with my Janome Sew Mini. I added a blue button with some twine to finish off the sentiment flag. Now, if you are wondering where I used the mustard color, well, that would be the little flowers in the image. It's there...I promise...lol! I started off using Mercy Kerin's sketch, but the vertical panel didn't look quite right with my image, so I'll have to try again. Bloggers Challenge Sketch!

Here we are...Sunday evening, and I'm just posting my card for Friday's Blogger's Challenge. Our challenge for this week is this wonderful sketch from our "Challenge Mom" Lisa Somerville. I'm late with my posting because I went to Cape Cod this weekend to have a little stamping fun at A*Muse*a*palooza. My card was ready for Friday, but I couldn't post because even though I'm lucky enough to stay with my dh's aunt when I travel to the Cape, I'm not so lucky to have internet access...lol! Now that you know why I'm posting so late (so sorry) and you've seen the sketch that we were given, here is my card...

I recently placed an order with Elzybells Stamps in the United Kingdom and they arrived this past week. This sweet image and sentiment came all the way across the pond to have a new home in my little stamping studio! The image is colored with Copic Markers (B0000, B00, BG10, BG18, BG72, C9, G21, G28, Y11, Y21, YR15, and the Colorless Blender) and I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. The card base is Stampin' Up's Not Quite Navy and the patterned paper is from the Girl Friday collection by Cosmo Cricket. The image and the patterned paper are layered with Cool Caribbean. I added some matching organdy ribbon and a button to go along with the sketch. A rather simple card, but I'm quite happy with how it all came together.

I'm having withdrawl from not having my computer all weekend...lol, so I'm anxious to see what the other Ladies from the BC group have come up with.
