This week's Blogger's Challenge is to use a favorite technique. I must admit...I don't use a lot of different techniques when I stamp, but one that I've always loved is the
Dazzling Diamond Dust technique. It's an easy way to add a lot of sparkle to a project.
My wonderful friend asked if I could make the invitations for her daughter's First Communion celebration. Of course I said, "Yes!" The biggest requirement was that the invitations had to be purple. I started off by being inspired by Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. I say inspired because I just couldn't make my pieces work in the same placement as the sketch, but a lot of the other elements are the same. I decided to go with Almost Amethyst, and then I used my Textile Embossing Folder in my 'Bug and I added some sheer ribbon from Michaels with a few American Crafts brads. To make the brads sparkle, I added a little bit of Star Dust Stickles. The main image is one that I've had for a few years. I was fortunate enough to pick it up at the local Dollar Store! I used the Dazzling Diamond Dust technique on the main image. I love the sparkle and then there is just enough sparkle from the ribbon and brads to balance everything off.
I'm anxious to see what techniques the Ladies from the Blogger's Challenge group have used. You can see their creations
here. Hope you and your have a beautiful weekend! Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Thank you so much for stopping by here today...Toodles! :D
